I am Dr. Regina Zona and I am an Award-Winning Singer, Master Teacher of Voice, and Professional Accompanist. You’ve got questions!
Do I need to know how to read music?
No! You’ll learn how to do that in 5-Day Sing & Play! We will cover the basics of reading notes on the staff and most importantly, we will cover how to play the chords that provide the harmonic structure of the song to support your singing.
Do I have to have a piano?
No! You don’t have to have an acoustic piano. But you should have at least an electric keyboard. 66 or 88 keys is fine. And if you’re just starting out and you aren’t sure you want to make the commitment, you could also use one of those hip roll-out keyboards. (But by the time you finish 5-Day Sing & Play, you’re gonna want to get your own keyboard so you can play and sing all day!)
I don't have a lot of time to learn how to play. If I did, I would take private lessons. What is the time commitment? How much do I have to practice?
Each lesson is between 20 and 30 minutes. That’s less than 3 hours to reach your goal of playing and singing your favorite songs! That’s it! Beyond that, you can practice as much or as little as you want to.
What equipment do I need to learn to play?
All the lessons take place in your internet browser. So besides your keyboard, the only thing you need is a device (computer, laptop, tablet, or phone) to play the videos.
Do I need to buy any music?
I will provide you with the chord sheets and lead sheets of the music we will work on in the lessons. And beyond that, I will give you a list of online resources where you can find free and paid music so you can find your favorite songs to learn.
